The Digital Twin

AI is making it possible to create increasingly realistic digital versions of ourselves. I wanted to explore where this technology could go beyond simple avatars and filters. Through a series of experiments, I tested my digital twin across visual storytelling, video, and creative production and began exploring a future where our digital identities can act, create, and represent us in ways we never imagined.

Building My Digital Twin.

I created a digital representation of myself using reference imagery and generative AI, refining it to maintain recognizable facial features, proportions, style, and identity across different scenarios.

From Portrait to Character

The digital twin became much more interesting once I moved beyond creating realistic portraits.

I began placing it in different worlds, wardrobes, environments, and narratives, turning a static likeness into a character capable of participating in stories and experiences.

Digital Twins + Filmmaking

I used my digital twin as the lead actor in a 25-second AI-generated post-apocalyptic short film.

AI allowed me to create the environments, action, supporting characters, and cinematic shots around the digital version of myself.

The creator increasingly becomes the director of a synthetic production.

Digital Twins as Actors

A digital twin could eventually become a persistent performer that appears across films, social content, games, advertising, virtual environments, and interactive experiences.

Instead of creating a new representation for every project, your digital identity could travel with you.

A New Model for Content Creation

Traditional production requires a large number of resources to turn an idea into content.

AI is beginning to compress that process: Idea → Digital Twin → AI Production → Creator → Audience

This could make cinematic storytelling accessible to individual creators at an entirely new scale.

From Creator to Studio

AI is collapsing the distance between having an idea and producing it.

A single person can increasingly become: Writer → Designer → Actor → Director → Producer → Studio

The digital twin adds another layer: a persistent character that can exist across everything you create.

What’s Next

We're still early, and the technology has significant limitations. But the direction is compelling.

I believe the next generation of creators won't just build audiences—they'll build digital identities, characters, and worlds around themselves.

The digital twin could become one of the most powerful creative tools a person can own.
